Rakuten Viber’s Supports E-sports by launching ‘Team Sorga’ Fortnite Community

Kathmandu/ Rakuten Viber, one of world’s leading application for free messaging, has recently supported an e-sports event for a globally acclaimed game called ‘Fortnite’ here in Nepal. The tournament was held in collaboration with ‘Sworga’, an independent e-sports organization.

This first-ever Fortnite tournament in Nepal, held on 24^th July, 2020, marked as Nepali gamers’ first commercial exposure in Fortnite gaming. The support from Viber, by developing a Fortnite Community ‘Team Sorga’ on its platform, also reflects on Rakuten Viber’s commitment towards empowering people in the online community.

The tournament was broadcasted by multiple streamers from the Fortnite Nepal community, which consists of more than 6000 gamers. The winning team ‘GB’, with team members Yato, Qnas Santos and St4inx, managed to score a total of 57 points and bagged a cash prize of 10 thousand rupees.
