Japanese parliament and former ministers met with Prime Minister Dahal, President of Nepali Congress Deuba and Finance Minister Paudel

Kathmandu / A team including the member of parliament and former minister of state Taira Masaki of Japan’s ruling party ‘Liberal Democratic’, a close friend of Nepal, met with high-ranking leaders including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Including Prime Minister Dahal,Japanese delegates met President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Prasad Paudel on Friday.

On the occasion of the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal said that Japan is Nepal’s oldest friend and thanked Japan for its continuous support in the economic and social development of Nepal. Prime Minister Dahal said that Nepal has now entered the stage of development and Japan’s support will be very important in the coming days. Informing that favorable environment will be created for investment in Nepal, Prime Minister Dahal urged Japanese businessmen to prepare an environment to invest in Nepal. Dahal said that when he visited Japan last year, he was very impressed by the development made by Japan in the field of agriculture, science and technology, and said that he wanted to develop similar skills and technology in Nepal. Similarly, Dahal said that Japan is giving opportunities to Nepali citizens to work in various fields and urged them to cooperate in increasing this number in the future. MP Masaki has been given the responsibility of looking after IT, manpower, digital space and other sectors in the Japanese government. There was a discussion between the two leaders about the easy entry and establishment of Nepal’s manpower in Japan. In response to a question about the Maoist Party in Parliament and its inclination towards China, Prime Minister Dahal informed that his party is a party that fully believes in democracy. “I am a person who has contested the election 4 times,” Prime Minister Dahal said, “Our party is neither pro-China nor pro-Indian.” We are only pro-Nepali’. Prime Minister Dahal informed that he became the Prime Minister after getting more than 99 percent vote of confidence from the Parliament and expected full support from Japan.
On that occasion, MP Masaki informed that he saw investment in water resources, tourism and other sectors in Nepal.
Similarly, in a meeting with the President of Nepali Congress, the largest party in the parliament, Sher Bahadur Deuba, the party chairman thanked Japan for its continuous support in the development of Nepal for a long time.

In addition to budgetary support, Deuba shared the information that Japan has been providing open-minded support in natural disasters such as covid, earthquakes, floods and landslides.
President Deuba said that problems have started to appear in various parts of the world due to the adverse environmental effects and that problems are also occurring in Nepal, and Japan’s assistance is needed in reducing these problems.

On that occasion, Japanese MP Masaki said that he saw a high potential for water resources development in Nepal and said that this sector should be developed with the financial and technical support of Japan.
MP Masaki’s team also met Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel on Friday. In the meeting, Masaki informed that India, a neighbor of Nepal, has received loans from Japan at low interest rates for various projects. He urged Nepal to take initiatives to take such loans from Japan. On that occasion, Finance Minister Paudel informed that there is a lack of resources for development projects and said that he would immediately take initiatives to get Japan’s cheap loan assistance.
Similarly, Finance Minister Paudel informed about creating a favorable environment for foreign investors in Nepal and asked for help in bringing Japanese investors here.

The same team met with the two Prime Ministers KP Sharma Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday.
On Friday, Rotary International District-3292 Nepal Bhutan organized a dinner and special program in honor of Member of Parliament and former Minister of State Taira Masaki. The Japanese team has come to Nepal at the invitation of Bhavan Bhatt, former president and patron of Non-Residential Nepali Association.
